Health and safety report

When completing my film it is important to take into account any possible safety issues that may arise that would put me or my actors at risk and as the producer of the film it is my job to ensure that the proper precasutions are taken in order to ensure that there are no dangers when filming. Below is a list of props and settings that may cause a possible threat if not used with the appropriate care:

* During the party scene I will be filming for an extended period of time in an enclosed space with a wide variety of lights such as fairy lights, spot lights and blacklights which if left unattended may overheat and cause a fire hazard therefore, in order to assure that this does not happen I will repeatedly check the lights every 15 minutes and if a situation arises in which I think that the lights are overheating and may pose a threat, I will turn  them off and evacuate the room whilst they cool down.

* An actor will be using a lighter on one occasion during my film and on several other occasions other actors will be smoking lit cigarettes, in order to ensure that a health and safety issue does not occur, I will remove any flammable objects from the immediate vicinity surrounding the cigarette/lighter. I will also ensure that an appropriate extinguisher is easily accessible both by the actors and myself incase of fire. With regards to the health implications that smoking poses to the actors themselves, I have already taken the precaution of ensuring that all of my actors are smokers and have no objections to consuming their cigarettes on film, I will also ensure that they are not required to consume anymore than they would on a daily basis.

*   Due to the current bad weather, there is a chance that when I begin filming the conditions on the roads may still be icy and twinned with the reduced visibility of filming at night this may pose a threat both to myself and any actors taking part in the scene because they may slip over and injusre themselves, in order to ensure that this doesn't happen I will ensure that any icy arreas are clearly marked out or illuminated to allow both the actors and myself to avoid them.
