First CD cover analysis

The first cover that I have chosen to analyse is the cover to a popular trance album by café del mar. The sort of music and accompanying themes involved in this album are similar to that of my own chosen song and therefore, the album cover should provide me with a suitable amount of knowledge as to the ways in which I should be approaching my own CD cover.
The image of the woman bathing in the sea with her body extended in an almost regal way towards the sky, makes her appear in an almost trance like state, which may be representative of the Genre. The woman appears to be in a state of deep relaxation which suggests to the audience the way in which the music will make them feel.
The woman’s stance and overall appearance may give the impression that she is almost worshipping the elements in a way that in a way that is reminiscent of very basic religion, and when researching further into the genre of music it became clear to me that the fans of this kind of music are often so passionate that it becomes a way of life for them, and almost gives an outsider the impression that they are in some sort of exclusive religion. The DJ’s are also often in a way hero-worshipped and this may be the message that they are trying to convey thought their CD cover.
There is a suggestion of sexual submissiveness about the way that the woman is half naked with her hands drawn behind her back. This plays on the fantasies of a lot of young men who are arguably the target audience of this CD.

The artist is not shown on the cover which suggests that the artists are not interested in their own personal images being known but rather the image and lifestyle that they are trying to convey to their audience.
The font used on the front is white and fairly plain which contrasts with the image and suggests something very unassuming about the artists.
