Analysis of CD cover 2:

This Cd cover is again taken from the work of a well known trance Dj and was released at a similar time to the cover that I first analysed. Throughout my analysis I also noticed many other similarities such as the basic themes and representations which gave me more of an insight into the ideologies of those that listen to this kind of music.
The main theme that immediately strikes me as following a pattern is the sense of being at one with nature and the primary use of elements within the image, in this case this element being the sky. The use of the sky as the main focal point for the image may be representative of the name “Dreamscape”, clouds are a well known symbol of dreams and this imagery is clearly intended to encourage the buyer to pick up on this association.
The faded image of the eyes being transposed over the top of the main image of the sky suggests that the music on the CD is the DJs vision that he is trying to share with the audience. The eyes are intended to be interpreted as those of the DJ.
The fact that the image is narrowed may be intended to represent the DJs peripheral vision suggesting further that the album is his vision and that he wants to share it with the listener.
The colour pallet used throughout the album consists of quite muted blue colours and is definitely following a colour scheme, they appear to be representing a mood, this being thoughtful, restful and calming which mirrors the style of music included on the CD
The font used is a fairly understated plain white colour and is at the top of the CD case, this is intended to show the potential listener that the title of the CD is supposed to take a back seat and is not as important as what is included in the CD, the font is also displayed in a typed style suggesting that the style of music is quite technological aswell.
